Simpson and Wentz blast celebrity baby snaps

Ashlee Simpson has said that the birth of her son made 2008 the best year of her life.
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz, who welcomed their first child Bronx Mowgli into the world in November, have branded celebrities who sell their baby pictures to magazines "strange".

Instead, the Fall Out Boy rocker and the pop star said that they preferred to share such special sentiments with those close to them.

Ashlee gave birth to her son in November last year, after marrying Pete in May, and she admits that she is having trouble topping 2008 in terms of good years.

"I don't know if I can have high expectations for 2009 because 2008 was so good," she told reporters in Las Vegas before celebrating New Year's Eve at Pure Nightclub.

"It was the greatest year of my life. I'm being a mom. I'm breast-feeding and, when I get a chance, I'm working out. Bronx is the best thing that ever happened to me."

Husband Pete echoed the singer's sentiments, saying that it was "kind of cool" to have so much responsibility for another person and to take care of a baby.

He added that what he was looking forward to most about raising his son was watching him "discover life" with his first laugh and first crawl.
