Pregnancy week 33

Foetal development during week 33 of being pregnant - You will sometimes be able to feel a small fist or foot jammed into the side of your abdomen.

Discuss pregnancy week 33 on our forums, right now! Or, post a comment below.

You

You will sometimes be able to feel a small fist or foot jammed into the side of your abdomen. Make sure your mattress is firm and supportive. Do not listen to birth horror stories, no two births are alike.

Your baby

Your baby's fingernails reach the fingertips, her skin is pink and smooth and her body looks much more rounded. There is a store of glycogen building in your baby's liver. She will draw on this reserve energy during labour and the following days whilst feeding is established.

Your baby's brain is expanding rapidly, with the hearing and speech centres are maturing to a point where she will be able to recognise your voice at birth. A baby boy will now weigh more than a girl.

Hi Leeza69, I'm also 33 weeks and am experiencing similar problems to yourself - some days I'm really frequent and then I won't go for nearly a week. My midwife did advise that both is quite normal just keep an eye to ensure there is no rectal bleeding - if this occurs, speak to your midwife or doctor.
Hope this helps
