Pregnancy week 26

Pregnancy information: week 26 of being pregnant - Other people may feel your baby's kick under your bump and you'll probably feel her movements every day.

Discuss pregnancy week 26 on our forums, right now! Or, post a comment below.

You

Go to the dentist for a check up if you have not been in the last three months, if you need any work there is still time before your baby is born. Other people may feel your baby's kick under your bump and you'll probably feel her movements every day. You may feel like you are going to tip over because of the weight you are carrying at the front of your body, and you may have problems tying shoelaces or driving.

Your hair normally grows in a growth/loss cycle, but hair loss slows in pregnancy so it appears thicker. The extra hair starts dropping when your baby is about three months old. Invest in a haircut that will be easy to maintain once your baby is born.

Your baby

Your baby will have a major growth spurt from now until 29 weeks. By 26 to 28 weeks the lungs are more ready to breathe if your baby was to be born early. Your baby's heartbeat has dropped to an average of 150 beats a minute now. Boys tend to have rates below this and girls above.

Hi This is my first time logging onto this website seems good, i'm just into my 26 weeks and feeling quite rubbish emotionally. Like you sonia i too am exposed to a very inconsiderate boss. I am usually able to let things go over my head when people upset me but now i find myself getting very worked up and unable to manage my emotions. I think it is just time for a nice relaxing christmas break ! ! Just hope the back ache ease's up a bit thankfully i have not had any heartburn. I love the feeling of my baby moving inside me its amazing. Any tips on relaxation while in work sitting at a desk ? ? ?

I'm constantly feeling her kicking and punching me. It freaks me out. This pregnancy hasn't been a bundle of joy for me due to emotional stress which i know i should try and control (but what do you do when you're exposed to it by inconsiderate people). When i do get stressed i find that i get a heartburn sensation followed by sickness. Other than this, when i feel her move around twiching and rolling, it put a perspective back into things. Yes i'm urinating frequentely too. Backache yes. I usually try and sleep on my left hand side, she starts kicking me when i sleep on right hand side. Any tips on what position baby should be in a this stage? Thanks. Sonia Raichura

This is my 3rd pregnancy. My 1st daughter died at birth. My 2nd daughter is now 6yrs going on 7. Naturally I am terrified of what may come with this daughter, but I have learned that every pregnancy truly is different. I don't remember having this burst of energy b-4, I didn't have heartburn b-4 (like now) and I didn't have morning sickness b-4 (like I did this time.) My point it is, there isn't one correct answer, everyone is different as well as every pregnancy.

I have this excruciating pain just below my boobs, where my bra sits. Its not where my bra is too tight as I wear it as little as possible. Its like a burning sensation. Has anyone else had this?

I dont know if Im the same as anyone else but my temper has been atrocious, my partner cant seem to do anything right in my eyes, through no fault of his own, but he's always there when i need a back or foot rub. :-)

Yeah I have found the same, although I have started to get tired in the last couple of weeks, the doctor has now signed me off work for a few days to recharge my batteries!!

They say the 2nd trimester is when you should feel brilliant, but I never!! I never knew how tiring pregnancy would be and it's only gona get worse now untill the birth!! Oh well I can't for my husband and me to meet our son!!

xx

I suddenly felt that wk 25 was a breeze, then wk 26 came and I seemed to tire easier, have more indigestion, had my first braxton hicks (which freaked me out!), constant broken sleep and a new natural waking time of between 5-6am every morning! my ankles and feet have really swelled today too, I can't get my ring off my finger and keep getting tingling/numbness in my hands/arms in the night.

The only bonus is that my boob size has gone up again - the best thing about being pregnant so far!! :O)
