Pregnancy week 18

Pregnancy calendar: week 18 of being pregnant - A dark line, which goes from your navel to your pubic bone, called the linea nigra, may appear at this time.

Discuss pregnancy week 18 on our forums, right now! Or, post a comment below.

You

Your heart is working 40 to 50 per cent harder than normal. You may be feeling your baby more by now, but many women don't feel anything until as late as 22 weeks. A dark line, which goes from your navel to your pubic bone, called the linea nigra, may appear at this time.

Your baby

Your baby can pull complex facial expressions such as yawn and pull faces and can even frown. Your baby's bones are forming rapidly, adults have around 212 bones but foetuses have more as they fuse together later in life. Your baby will be able to grasp his or her hands, touch the cord, and suck his or her fingers and thumb. Fingers, arms and legs can all be flexed.

I am 18 weeks today with my first pregnancy, Im so excited i just cant wait for the little one arrive. I have my 20 week scan on 16th June looking forward to seeing baby again and finding out if it's a Boy or a Girl cant wait to start buy pinks or blues instead of whites and creams. I have felt baby move not all the time and not every day mostly at night when im laying down and relaxing. My boyfriend puts his ear to my tummy and he can hear the baby moving. Im just stressing about the birth now not looking forward to that.

DebjaniBanerjee and anyone with symptoms like hers.....:-)

I am on my 3rd pregnancy, I am still not sure if I am feeling the baby or not. My OB said that if you have morning sickness there is a better chance of the pregnancy being healthy. :-) However if you don't have any sickness it doesn't mean there is anything at all wrong. I would say with you urination you maybe dehydrated or it's your prenatals. Mine state on the side of the bottle it may cause color change in you urine or bm.

Good luck it's been a while I see I am sure you are feeling the baby alot now!!!!

hi! according to my doctor, i turned 18 weeks on wednesday. but according to this site, i am already in my 19th week. i'm not sure if i've felt flutters/ flickers, or if it's just gas, because i have been getting a lot of gas. and a lot of back pains too. i'm positive i haven't felt it kick yet, and i'm very excited and can't wait until it does.. congratulations to everyone and i hope everything goes well with all of you!

Hi im 18 weeks with my first baby next wk.When i was at work this week, i felt like flutters in my tummy. It was wierd. I don't get them all day, just time to time. Im abit worried as i have not felt anything for the last day or so. I was expecting the flutters to happen all through the day. Im also worried about childbirth. Should I worry?

Hello everyone. I'm 18 weeks now and this is my third baby. I felt my baby move about 6 weeks - the same as I did for my second child. Last night I felt it kick against my husbands hand although he said he couldn't feel anything (but he was watching Top Gear at the time)

Hi, this is my first pregnancy and I felt my baby move for the first time this week too very faint flickers of movement, I thought that I felt it when I put my hand there but I'm not too sure now - I defo felt it inside though. My husband has not been able to feel anything yet but I am hoping that the movements get stronger and baby starts to kick soon so that I can share it with hubby and everyone!! xxx :)

This is my first pregnancy and I really cannot wait until labour. I have felt little flickers but not defiant kicks or prods, Im sure i did yesterday but im so unsure of what kicks actually feel like. I have been having really bad backache and my breast have gone from 36dd to 36ee. Can anyone tell me what to expect with regards to feeling kicks? Gail 18.

Hey all!! I am 18 weeks pregnant tomorrow with my 2nd child. I have felt movement since 15 weeks and 2 days ago it turned into kicks rather than 'fluttering'. Babys daddy can also fell the little 1 kicking his hand which is rather special. I felt my first child round the same time to.

i'm 18 weeks && have felt it kick (: the best way to describe it is as it feels like something is actually kicking which i thought was amazin as i didnt think you would be able to feel it that well !!! (:

This is my second pregnancy and I have felt this little one for a few weeks now and I am 15 weeks pregnant. I am posting this because with my first I did not feel anything until at least 20 weeks. I remember my 20 week scan and the baby was kicking and only then did I realise what the feeling was. It certainly did not feel like butterflies like it says. Dont worry about it, once you have felt it you will notice it more and more. Most people with first babies do not feel it until at least 20 weeks and then it is only a slight feeling and not a big kicking feeling. I can only describe it if you have wind bubbles in your belly and they pop but only very slightly.
