Pregnancy week 15

Foetal development at week 15 of being pregnant - Your baby may now be sucking her thumb and grabbing the umbilical cord.

Discuss pregnancy week 15 on our forums, right now! Or, post a comment below.

You

If you haven't told your employer yet that you are pregnant, this week may be a good time to do so. Many women feel extraordinarily well now and begin to bloom (though this doesn't happen to everyone). Make the most of this newfound wellbeing.

Your baby

Your baby is now covered with fine downy hair called lanugo which disappears in later pregnancy. This helps protect her very fine skin. Your baby may now be sucking her thumb and grabbing the umbilical cord. Fingernails are beginning to grow. Part of the baby's skeleton hardens and taste buds form on the tongue. Your baby will hear her first sounds, listening to your heartbeat, digestion, and voice for the rest of your pregnancy.
