Motherhood made Katie stronger, wiser

Hollywood actress and celebrity mum Katie Holmes has admitted that motherhood made her a stronger person. Talking about her "most important job" to date, the 30-year-old starlet told Glamour magazine that being mum to daughter Suri, two, "has been the most amazing experience". "During the first couple of days [with Suri], we would just sleep right next to her to make sure she was breathing. And I was constantly learning on the job, but Tom was very helpful and supportive," she said in the 70th anniversary issue.

Suri is Katie's first child with husband, 46-year-old actor Tom Cruise, who is already dad to two adopted children from his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman.

According to the Batman Begins star, becoming a mother forces you "to be a little bit wiser".

Last month, Katie, Tom and toddler Suri were spotted enjoying a family day out at Disney World.

While the high-profile couple has expressed plans to add to their young family, Katie claims that pregnancy isn't on the cards for the Cruises just yet.
