Mel B: You have to have your me time

Scary Spice advises new mums to dedicate time to losing post-baby weight.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has opened up about her exercise and dietary changes that helped her lose 60 pounds in baby weight.

The 33-year-old singer turned TV presenter gave birth to her second child, daughter Angel, in April 2007 and admits that getting back in shape after the birth was no easy task.

Speaking on The Bonnie Hunt Show in the US, Mel B said: "I thought to myself, 'I want to be in shape'. If you eat healthy and work out every other day, it does drop off."

"[You can exercise] when you have kids napping or at school. You have to have your me time. You have to work out and make yourself feel good about the way you look," she advised.

Little Angel is Mel's daughter from a brief relationship with Hollywood actor and comedian Eddie Murphy. She is also mum to ten-year-old Phoenix Chi from her marriage to dancer Jimmy Gulzar.

The celebrity mum is now married to producer Stephen Belafonte.
