Joel Madden: We let love plan our babies

Soon-to-be dad of two, Joel Madden, reveals his flexible approach to family planning.
Celebrity dad, rocker Joel Madden has admitted that family planning with partner Nicole Richie is left to chance rather than mutually decided.

The 30-year-old Good Charlotte frontman told American radio host Ryan Seacrest in a recent interview that he and Nicole, 27, have yet to plan how many children they would like and when.

Joel explained: "We let love plan our babies. We said even before this one we didn't know how many kids we were going to have…then we got pregnant!"

Last month, the high-profile couple confirmed the news that they are expecting their second child together later in the year.

Commenting on the pregnancy, proud dad Joel gushed: "We're excited about it; it's going to be great."

The Simple Life star Nicole gave birth to their first baby, one-year-old daughter Harlow, in January 2008, weighing 6lbs and 7oz.

Good Charlotte are due to release their fifth studio album, Cardiology, in a few months' time, the band revealed.
