Carla Bruni: I would love to have a child

First Lady of France Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has revealed plans to raise a child with husband, President Nicolas.

Speaking about family ties in a recent interview with Madame Figaro magazine, the 41-year-old former model and singer said she would like to have another baby, if not naturally then via the adoption route.

"I would love to have a child but I'm not going to fight against nature," she commented. "If it's not possible biologically, I will adopt one. I'm not obsessed by blood ties. I think you can form strong bonds without that."

"It would be a dream … If life doesn't give me another child, well, it has given me so much already," she told Vanity Fair in September.

Carla is already mum to seven-year-old Aurelien from a previous relationship with Raphael Enthoven.

She tied the knot with Sarkozy, 54, in February 2008 after a whirlwind romance at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

President Sarkozy has three children from his previous marriages to Marie-Dominique Culioli and Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz.
