Baby coats and jackets

Advice on what to look for when buying baby coats and jackets, plus the opportunity to purchase a range of baby coats including knitted and winter varieties.

Discuss baby coats and jackets on our forums, right now! Or, post a comment below.

Fleece is a comfortable material for your baby's coat. The warmest winter coat covers your baby's bottom. Avoid loose fitting coats which could get caught either inside or outdoors. Make sure shaped buttons fit through and stay in the buttonholes.

If you are buying a raincoat choose one with a soft lining. Though it may cost more it will be more comfortable than a stiff, unlined plastic raincoat.

If your baby prefers to be swaddled, try buying a snowsuit or coat, zip him inside and let the arms of the snowsuit or coat dangle.

Now that the weather is getting warm I'm not sure what sort of coat Rachel should be wearing, I've found a nice one in an online store that I'd love to get her but would like other opinions.

Forgot to add- it's the green one on the british little nut tree site. Has anyone heard of them?

Many parents think that they need a snowsuit -- as did I. But I think we used our's about twice. My daughter seemed to get far too hot in her's
